About the Youth ministry

The Basement
The Basement is a joint church youth ministry in Kongsberg for young people aged 13 – 19 (from after Christmas in 7th grade).

We meet every Friday in The Basement in Betania, which is located directly across the road from Krona, in Hasbergs road 4. The entrance is from the car park.

At 19:00 we start by eating some food (free!) before we gather for a meeting with praise, prayer and a sermon. Afterwards there is a kiosk, socializing and the opportunity to play table tennis, billiards, and PlayStation. We also organize games and competitions after the meeting for anyone who wants to participate.

In between there are also film nights, game nights, trips (Get Focused in the autumn and cabin tour winter/spring) and other fun things! All young people are welcome here, whether you call yourself a Christian or not. We hope to see you!

Tentro confirmation
Tentro confirmation is for everyone. Neither baptism, membership in a congregation/church nor that you call yourself a Christian is required. We organize Tentro in collaboration with the Pentecostal church Bethania.

The gatherings occur approximately every second Friday in Bethania just before the youth service, and at the end of the meeting (7 pm) we go downstairs and eat together with The Basement.

Social gatherings
About once a month, Norkirken arranges social gatherings for young people where we meet to build community and have fun. An overview of dates is sent out at the start of each semester, and examples of activities we have had are trampoline park, bowling, rock climbing, girls’ night, and downhill skiing

The aim is to build a safe and good environment and to make the transition easier to our joint church youth work (Basement). You can participate in these gatherings from the autumn when you start 7th grade.

We are registered as a local team in Acta, and receive support for each member. Membership fee is NOK 60 per year. Contact the youth worker for registration or if you want to know more.

Youth in service
Many young people find it fun and meaningful to contribute to the church. Especially at the family services, we often have young people helping out, and it is also possible to serve in The Basement and at regular services.
